Tiger Tops Elephant Welfare Volunteer Program – Volunteer Recruitment

OUR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM MISSION

As a for profit organization centered around wildlife tourism, Tiger Tops was greatly impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic when Nepal’s tourism industry grinded to an abrupt halt. With a break in tourism funding, our ability to provide for the elephants who remained in our care, whose extensive needs continued regardless of the world economic climate, was greatly impacted. Because of this, we became astutely aware of the necessity and importance of economic sustainability in order to provide undisrupted care for our elephants. To this end, we have partnered with Responsible Tourism Trust, a Nepali non profit organization we initiated but now operates independently, to launch our first Tiger Tops Elephant Welfare Volunteer Program at Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge, which is dedicated solely to improving the welfare of the 12 elephants under our care. Although we provide the best living conditions for our elephants as we can, we know that elephant welfare can always be improved with more labor and funding. Therefore we have developed this project with the sole purpose of improving elephant welfare. All the project fees, labor and fundraising efforts go directly to projects, efforts and resources that impact the day to day living conditions of our elephants.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Hard-working team players who are passionate about elephant welfare and conservation, have the willingness and skills to work hands-on with staff doing different construction projects at the camp, and strong skills, interest and enthusiasm for creating content for our social media platforms and fundraising campaigns. This is a 1 month minimum commitment and no maximum duration of stay. You will be embedded as an integral part of the camp team.
