RESPONSIBLE TOURISM
The Tiger Tops concept is built on conservation, responsible tourism and a commitment to local communities. As the pioneers of eco-tourism in Nepal, Tiger Tops are proud to lead a small but very active movement that promotes conservation and sustainable tourism within Nepal’s national parks. With a deep connection to the parks and wildlife, we recognise the importance of preserving the abundant ecosystems of Nepal. They are a place to learn, to cherish, to grow and above most, a wondrous place to explore.

TIGER TOPS ETHOS

Tiger Tops has demonstrated a commitment to sustainable travel and responsible tourism since its establishment in 1964. In addition to supporting a wide range of local programs, Tiger Tops has created its own community and wildlife projects throughout Nepal. These focus on conservation, education, health and welfare, and address the environmental and human needs that exist where its lodges, camps and trekking routes are located.

EDUCATION

Rural Nepal has some of the worst education outcomes in the world. Although progress has recently been made towards achieving the Millennium Development Goal of primary education for all, barriers such as geography, infrastructure, socio-economic status and cultural norms, prevent this becoming a reality. Tiger Tops is proud to support 1000s of children in surrounding communities through the provision of scholarships, textbooks, uniforms and staff training. We engage meaningfully with the community to ensure education programs are sustainable and achieving the desired results.

HEALTH AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Empowering local communities through health and social development projects is another important way that Tiger Tops strives to give back to society. Hygiene camps, eye check ups and local clinics provide much needed basic health services in villages. Income generation programs similarly afford marginalized women the opportunity to learn agricultural, handicraft and sewing skills.
